OMG! Very sad news...
Steve Irwin was killed today, struck by a stingray...
At least he died doing what he loves.

its very sad indeed, he was a great educator, and his passion for wildlife was great to watch.

Just saw that tonight
I've had the TV on watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon...caught a news update regarding Steve Irwin, and read about it online. I'm extremely sad about his passing. I know he was crazy...he put his life on the line on a regular basis. I'm shocked it was a sting ray that ended his search for the next "rush". I'm also very sad that his wife didn't know about it until we did. She is on a trek through Tazmania. He was 44 and leaves behind a wonderful wife and 2 kids. Very sad...

somehow...it makes all this petty crap we discuss seem like 8-tracks on ebay...

Um..wow...without reiterating what you all have said..I need to figure out how to tell my daughter. She is only 7 but knows exactly who Steve it as she watches animal planet and discovery channels almost religiously...very sad day indeed.
